Do your cabinets meet California formaldehyde rules?
Yes. Every panel we use is CARB Phase 2 and TSCA Title VI compliant, which covers formaldehyde emissions from composite wood. It is a legal requirement in California and it is also the reason a new kitchen should not smell like chemicals for a month. Ask any bidder for documentation and be wary of anyone who cannot produce it.
How long does a custom kitchen take?
Design and measure runs a week or two, fabrication is typically four to six weeks depending on finish, and installation is three to five days for a standard kitchen. Painted conversion varnish takes longer than stain because of cure time. You get a schedule before you commit and a call from us if anything moves.
Can you do cabinetry for an ADU or garage conversion?
That is a growing share of our work. An accessory dwelling unit kitchenette has a different set of constraints from a main kitchen: tighter footprint, appliance sizes that are not standard, and a need to squeeze real storage out of a small run. We design around the actual appliances and the actual plan, and we handle the closet and bathroom cabinetry at the same time.
Why do my cabinet doors look chalky near the window?
Inland Empire sun. Ultraviolet exposure fades stains and yellows some clear coats, and south and west-facing kitchens see a lot of it. Species matters, since cherry darkens and maple ambers, and finish matters more. We use catalyzed conversion varnish with UV inhibitors on painted work and a fully sealed finish on stained work, which slows it substantially compared with a builder-grade lacquer.
